Together with his wife Ulrike Zotter, the 26-year-old Josef Zotter opened up the Zotter confectionary shop in Graz, Austria in 1987. The unusual creations such as “hemp slice,” “the funny pie,” and “scarlet runner bean roll with coriander” earned regional fame and Zotter soon opened up three more branches. They are best known for their unique hand-scooped chocolates, a mixture of inventiveness and handwork, as well as their incredibly creative and lively packaging. Zotter creates bean-to-bar confections with fairly traded organic cacao, purchased directly, then roasted, ground, milled and conched.
