Ritual Chocolate began in a tiny 400-square-foot studio turned test kitchen in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado – filled to the brim with the aroma of cacao, and surrounded by self-built equipment (like a chicken rotisserie oven converted into a cacao bean drum). They name themselves Ritual, paying homage to days where cacao was truly appreciated and held in high regard in the rituals and ceremonies of the Mayans, Aztecs and Olmecs. They now have a factory in Heber City, Utah, where their hearts still beat for cacao, and they continue to learn to craft the highest quality and smoothest chocolate possible.
