Goodnow Farms makes all of their hot cocoa from the bean! They're one of the only chocolate makers in the world who roasts, presses and grinds their own hot cocoa. This translates into incredible TRUE cacao flavor. They make their delicious hot cocoa from the same premium single origin beans that they use to make their chocolate, so each variety has it’s own unique flavor profile! This Esmeraldas hot cocoa is made with their directly sourced beans from Costa Esmeraldas Cacao. Most hot cocoa is alkalized, which means it’s washed with a solution of potassium carbonate. This removes most of the natural cacao flavor and also a significant amount of the beneficial flavanols. But their cocoa is NEVER alkalized, so you’ll always taste the unique flavors of the cacao!
