Definite Chocolate's story begins with Jens, an industrial engineer who worked in energy efficiency projects in Germany for 10 years. When he tasted single origin craft chocolates for the first time, he fell in love with craft chocolate. Just a few years later, after moving to the Dominican Republic, he started his dream at home. They became the first Dominican chocolate maker to win awards at the Academy of Chocolate in 2018. As the company grew, in 2019 it moved from the family kitchen into a proper workshop, including a tempering machine (until then, Jens had tempered all the chocolate by hand!) Now, Jens and a few employees make the chocolate, and Marjorie does everything else.
